The Cleveland Cavaliers might have made a very wise move when it took Shaquille O’Neal to its side from the Phoenix Suns and tucked him under its wings. This could have ensured Cavaliers’ victory in the Eastern Conference.

However, the months after the June 2009 proved to be difficult for Shaq. He seemed a little awkward with the team’s offense and Cleveland was way behind schedule.

But the Cavaliers have made a comeback lately. It has even overtaken the Boston Celtics to clinch the top spot in the East. Lebron James may still be performing great, but his teammates have all fallen behind.

The Los Angeles Lakers still dominate the Western Conference, but has experienced some slack after losing Pau Gasol for a second injury. Kobe Bryant’s spasms last Tuesday may even worsen their situation.

Coming in as a serious threat for the Lakers is the San Antonio Spurs. Just like the Cavaliers, the Spurs started with a poor performance, but has also made a comeback after beating the Lakers for 25 points on Tuesday.

With the opening of a new year, it seems like the Cleveland Cavaliers is the team to watch out for.
