Online gaming industry taking a turn this year, where too?
Past few days were very exciting for the gaming industry, both the online gaming and traditional land based gaming.
On September 11th., Harras group, the US based gambling giant announced they have closed a contract with online casino operator 888 , to open their online casino activity for the UK market with the 888 platform. Executives who firmed this deal did not want to mention any numbers, but were talking about “millions of dollars”. Harras and Ceasers casinos will be involved in the online casino deal and they will be most probably branded under these names.
Yesterday, a supreme court at Lisbon , Portugal, has disagreed with BWin’s claim and decide that online sporting bet sites, should be legalized under government ownership, this is order to prevent fraud.
Looking at the bigger scope of the industry, we assume, the land base gaming companies and internet casinos will soon be merged into bilateral projects as each side has the means and power to bring a largest outcome of a mutual project than , each of the sides trying to take one another part of the cake.
Looking at the online gaming arena, legalities and legislation issues should be a very active role in the industry, up coming quarterly reports show a lot merges between operators, and larger deals between software providers and land based gaming tycoons.
Lower profits due to the global economy, and thus, a lower side at stock prices and profits, are the big “headache” of land based casino and sporting book companies, they too, are in the goal of getting themselves into the online arena , and as fast as possible.
Recently buyout of a Playtech owned firm by William Hill based in the UK, shows this trend in the global arena.
